Rejecting the plea to declare the trial court’s decision as null and void, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday pronounced the verdict in 55-year-old land dispute case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The case dates back to 1964 when 20 kanals of land between Pahal Khan and Muhammad Iqbal became a bone of contention between the two.
In his 13-page decision, Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmed wrote that initially parties to the case had entered into an agreement on settling the issue after which the applicant refused to give ownership of the land prompting the aggrieved party to approach trial court.
“After taking into account all the facts, the trial court gave the decision in favour of the applicant,” reads the LHC verdict.
The verdict further says that after that the other party went to the Lahore High Court, seeking declaration of the trial court verdict null and void.
