The power crisis in the country has intensified and the power shortfall reached its highest level on Wednesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the power shortfall has become at 9 pm today was 9,970 Mega Watts (MW) while the demand for electricity has reached 28,780 MW.
The sources said that the power supply is 18,820 MW and PESCO’s shortfall has reached 1687 MW while TESCO’s shortfall has touched the line of 676 MW.
The shortfall of IESCO is reached 693 MW, GAPCO’s 760 MW, LESCO’S 573 MW, FESCO’S 1210, MEPCO's 1738 MW, SEPCO’s 642, HESCO’s 483, and KESCO's 1086 MW.
As per the report, the LESCO system has collapsed as a power outage every 2 hours for one hour in Lahore city and 10 hours in suburb areas.
The LESCO has failed to improve the transmission system during the last one and a half years due to which consumers are facing prolonged power outages, repeated tripping and transformers burning in different areas.
As per the report of the channel, in many areas of Lahore, there was no electricity even after 30 hours.
