PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has trashed all the news and romours about divisions within the Chaudhry family and the party following Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s decision to side with the PTI government on the no-confidence motion submitted by the Opposition against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pervez Elahi’s decision came after he was offered Punjab chief ministership by Imran Khan, replaced incumbent CM Sardar Usman Buzdar.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the seasoned leader and former prime minister said that there were no differences in the PML-Q and the Chaudhry clan, adding that the ‘party and family are on the same page’.
He deplored that presenting facts in a distorted manner was abominable act. He said every decision which was made by the party leaders was made with his consultation. He slammed and termed all the rumors which were doing rounds in media as baseless.
He said though he did not believe in explaining such rumours, but he would like to say that he was considered the patriarch of the family. He said that the number of young people sitting in parliament was greater than the number of young MPs in all previous assemblies. It’s wrong to level allegations against them or doubt them, Shujaat held.
He was of the view the word ‘money bargain’ should not be used, especially the educated people didn’t like it. Presenting facts in a skewed manner is inappropriate, he added.
The PML-Q president said that his family was so big. For the last 50 years, they have not been residing in Punjab alone but they also have inhabited in almost all districts across the country. Though we are a large family, but my consultation is sought in every affair, the aced politician remarked.
He pronounced that those who were spreading propaganda against family to gain political advantage, they would be disappointed.
Minister for Water Resources Moonis Elahi also posted a tweet displaying statement of Ch Shujaat.
