Talks between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) could not become fruitful even on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Informed sources have confirmed to 24NewsHD that talks between the two parties continued till 4am Tuesday from Monday night as the MQM-P has stiffened its tone after the confer of the chief minister’s slot on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) in Punjab.

The sources privy to the development also reveal that the MQM-P has also added to the existing list of its demands as more ministries are now being sought in Sindh as well as in the Centre.

Moreover, the MQM-P wants the Sindh Local Government Act to be withdrawn before voting on the no-confidence motion. The MQM-P also wants the new bill to be passed by Sindh Assembly.

It is learnt that much more has been demanded apart from the Sindh Governorship and the administration of Karachi and Hyderabad local bodies.

The MQM-P has also turned down the PPP’s offer to submit a proposal for amending Sindh Local Government Act. “It is PPP that brought the bill; it itself should correct the bill,” said Muttahida.

It is also reported that the PPP’s legal team has begun work on the bill, and the Muttahida has been asked to change the timeframe for approval of the bill.

Muttahida’s matters in the federation will be decided with Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif.
