Punjab Assembly approved the Demand for Grants of Rs 163 billion for the police department during the opposition members' uproar and surrounding the speaker's dice on Thursday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the opposition's Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) member Imtiaz Sheikh in his budget speech raised objections about the huge funds for the police and suggested the government shut the department as its performance is poor.
During the speech, SIC legislator Imtiaz Sheikh gave remarks that the women in reserved seats are sitting in the House on the 'charity' seats.
On such remarks, treasury benches started protests and Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that women are honourable to them so they should be respected by the opposition.
Imtiaz Shaikh said that he has called the words of charity seats for those who reached the House through Form 47.
Over the issue, the talk between Imtiaz Sheikh and Khalil Tahir Sindhu reached a bitter level and Imtiaz Sheikh threatened Khalil Tahir Sindhu that he has no value of him.
Another SIC member Ejaz Shafi also exchange some hard talks with Deputy Speaker Zaheer Channar when he was refused to speak in the House. The Deputy Speaker warned Ejaz Shafi that he should not dictate to the chair as he had already settled the business of the house to his Chief Whip.
Meanwhile, opposition members surrounded the Speaker Dice and members of both sides stood on the seats.
The chair ordered the opposition members Ejaz Shafi and Ahmed Khan Bhachar to sit on their seats. The chair advised Ijaz Shafi to reduce his bitterness and talk with love.
The finance minister said that the opposition should correct its attitude as it is deliberately prolonging the cut motion debate as the government has to pass the budget today.
