Chicken price has plunged down by Rs135 per kg in just four days after Influenza surfaced in broiler chicken, reported 24News HD TV channel.
Due to the fear of bird influenza, the sale of chicken and chicken products have been the worst hit. Livestock experts say the use of broiler chicken does not have any dangerous effects on human health. They suggested not to listen to the rumours.
A sharp decline has been witnessed in the use of chicken as the citizens have started avoiding broiler meat. It resulted in a huge decline in chicken prices.
According to Deputy Director Livestock, chicken is suffering from H9 AVN Influenza which is usual and it happens every year. He said the chicken could be vaccinated properly this year due to the prevailing situation of coronavirus in the country.
The experts, however, suggested not to eat fast food as it was not up to the health standards and cook chicken very well at home before eating. They said the broiler meat was not harmful to human health in any way and strongly suggest not to listen to the rumours.
