An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has reserved the verdict on the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar in the judicial complex attack case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
ATC judge Raja Jawwad Abbas reserved the verdict.
“On the day of the incident, Asad Umar did not come to the judicial complex. The CCTV cameras are installed in which Asad Umar was not seen,” the lawyer for Asad Umar told the court.
“Not only did Asad Umar bring the PTI workers to the judicial complex, but he also organised the arson,” the prosecutor maintained before the court.
“Tell me one case where a terrorist came without weapons. This is the first case of its kind where the accused has come unarmed,” Judge Jawwad Abbas Raja said to the prosecutor.
“The PTI workers set vehicles outside the judicial complex on fire,” the prosecutor told the court.
“The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) protests outside the Supreme Court, and no case is filed against them,” the lawyer for the accused said.
The court will pronounce its verdict on Tuesday (tomorrow).
