The death of five children due to a measles outbreak in a suburban village of Pattoki within just five days has alarmed the provincial health ministry, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Taking immediate notice of the situation, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has dispatched a team of doctors to Pattoki to investigate the outbreak thoroughly.

"The team will assess all aspects of the situation and submit a detailed report," stated Imran Nazir.

He emphasized the urgency of monitoring the entire area to prevent further loss of life.

"We will provide all required medications and vaccines to ensure the health and safety of the residents," he added.

"We will form an inquiry committee to investigate the deaths of children in Pattoki, just as we did in Kabirwala," he affirmed.

The inquiry findings will be used to hold those responsible accountable, ensuring they receive appropriate punishment, he maintained.

Khawaja Imran continued a health alert has been issued across hospitals in Punjab. "We have alerted all hospitals in Punjab to be prepared for any similar emergencies".

He also announced his plans to visit the affected area soon, accompanied by Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, to oversee the situation personally.
