PM Shehbaz forms 12-member Cabinet Committee for SIFC

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed the 12-member Cabinet Committee for The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.


According to the report, the Prime Minister will be the chairman of the SIFC Cabinet Committee while ministers of finance, defence, energy, food security, commerce, IT and others will be members of it.


The Army Chief, Chief Ministers of all four provinces and National Coordinator will also be invited to the SIFC Cabinet Committee meeting on a special invitation.


The decisions of the SIFC Cabinet Committee will be submitted to the Federal Cabinet for approval.


Pertinent to mention that for economic revitalization in the country, the government had formed the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) under the leadership of PM Shehbaz Sharif while the Army Chief is also included in its members.


Its primary objective is to entice foreign direct investments (FDI) in Pakistan and stimulate the nation's economic growth.


To facilitate smoother collaboration with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, the SIFC strives to open up investment prospects spanning various sectors, including agriculture and information technology.


The SIFC operates as a paramount decision-making platform aimed at spearheading essential structural reforms within the economy.
