Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday took notice of the fire which again erupted at Margalla Hills, instructing the authorities concerned to douse it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Shehbaz Sharif directed the relevant departments to immediately mobilize their teams to control the fire which broke out again a day after it was extinguished through a joint operation by the Pakistan Army, NDMA, Islamabad administration and the climate change ministry.
Shehbaz also directed the departments concerned to control the fire by ensuring the safety of human lives.
Meanwhile, the process of extinguishing the fire at Margalla Hills was under way. The fire broke out on Syedpur Range Trail Three and spread towards Noorpur Range Trail Five.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) teams have reached the spot to douse the fire.
According to CDA authorities, more than 65 fire-fighters of CDA were participating in the fire-fighting operation.
The fire at Trail Three has been brought under control.
More teams have been dispatched to douse the fire quickly, the CDA officials said.
CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhavaki supervised the operation led by DG Environment.
On the instructions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner, the concerned Assistant Commissioner was present on the spot.
Due to strong winds and hot weather, the personnel faced difficulties in controlling the fire.
Benches and exercise equipment on the Trail Three tracks were also damaged in the fire, a CDA spokesperson said. Hundreds of trees, plants and wildlife were also affected by the fire.
Fire breaks out in Khewra forest
A fire broke out in forest near Salt Mine Khewra area of Jhelum on Tuesday.
According to rescue officials, due to strong winds, the fire started spreading in the forest.
However, rescue teams were engaged in rescue activities but due to the mountainous area, they were facing difficulties.
The fire broke out in Chona Pahari, Dhok Sahali, Dhok Rati areas of Salt Mine Khewra.
Firefighting vehicles and personnel could not reach the spot and were trying to reach there on foot.
