Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari Sunday telephoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and offered his condolences to him on the death of his mother Begum Shamim Akhtar.
The PPP top leader expressed solidarity with the leader of the opposition in National Assembly. Zardari also prayed for the departed soul. I am with you in this moment of grief, he added.
Former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s mother Begum Shamim Akhtar laid to rest in Raiwind on Saturday. She passed away in London after a prolonged illness. PML-N leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz were released on parole to attend the funeral prayers of their mother.
