Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that a designer and model who posed for a photoshoot in the Kartarpur Gurdwara must apologise to the Sikh community, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said that the Kartarpur Gurdwara was a religious symbol and not a film set.
The minister was responding to a tweet of Ravinder Singh Robin who said, “Modelling bareheaded for ladies' attire, in the premises of Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib at #KartarpurSahib in Pakistan, by a Lahorite woman, has severely hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs. Further the pictures were uploaded on social media.”
The Kartarpur Corridor is a visa-free border crossing and religious corridor that connects the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan to the border with India.
The crossing allows devotees from India to visit the gurdwara in Kartarpur, 4.7 kilometres (2.9 miles) from the India–Pakistan border on the Pakistani side without a visa.
On 17th November, 2021, the Kartarpur Corridor was opened after being remain closed for over a year and a half due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Both India and Pakistan have allowed citizens to visit the Gurdwara on the mandatory vaccinated condition.
