To get favour on the issue of the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Prime Minister Imran Khan will take Ulema in confidence today (Saturday).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PM will hold a special meeting with the delegation of religious scholars in Islamabad.
The sources said that PM Imran would appeal to the Ulema to play their role to resolve the matter of the government with the TLP.
The sources said that the PM would also present the stance of his government on the issue of the TLP before the Ulema.
Separately, a delegation of the religious leaders of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) called on President Arif Alvi on Friday and offered their services to resolve the current situation peacefully.
The sources said that the religious delegation was led by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and discussed the issue of the TLP long march with the President.
The meeting discussed various proposals for a peaceful solution and settlement of the current situation with the TLP, the sources said.
This was stressed in the meeting that violence was not only harming people's lives and property but for the image of Islam on the globe.
