Punjab CM orders speedy completion of upgradation of two Lahore hospitals

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the construction works of the upgrading projects of General and Mayo Hospitals during a 3-hour visit on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During his visit, the CM reviewed the construction works of the emergency block and the upgradation of the old building of the General Hospital.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also inspected the construction and renovation of operation theaters in Old Block and New Block of General Hospital.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered to compile a record of removed items, especially AC, lights, fans and rugs and an inventory of all equipment and items should be prepared.

He further ordered that beds and other items should be stored in a safe place during the construction work.

Chief Minister Naqvi also directed for high quality wiring.

The CM inspected the three floors of the emergency block and gave necessary instructions regarding the construction works.

During his visit, he was briefed that floors, washrooms, electrification and drainage will be rehabilitated.

CM Naqvi expressed his indignation on conducting the test from outside on the citizen's complaint and he ordered to return the money spent on tests to the citizen.

He reached Mayo Hospital after completing his visit of General Hospital.

In the Mayo Hospital, the chief minister reviewed the upgradation of emergency block, inspected operation theatres, consultant room and reception area.

Naqvi went to all four floors and inspected the ongoing construction activities.

The CM ordered that a state-of-the-art emergency blocks consisting of 250 beds is being constructed in both hospitals.

He shook hands with the workers and instructed them to work in 3 shifts to complete the upgradation work as soon as possible.

Secretary Construction and Communications gave a briefing on the progress on the upgradation projects of the two hospitals.

The secretary briefed that special EPOXY tiles and anti-bacterial paint will be used in the main emergency block of Mayo Hospital.

Provincial Ministers Dr Javed Akram, Amir Mir, Secretary Health, Secretary Information, Secretary, Vice Chancellors, MS and related officials were also present on this occasion.
