The Punjab Assembly Monday passed a resolution expressing profound respect and gratitude for the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices and dedication to the nation’s security, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Presented by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, the resolution highlighted the bravery of the armed forces and paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans for their unwavering commitment.
"This House pays great tribute to the martyrs and veterans of Pakistan's Armed Forces," the resolution read, noting that Pakistan’s military protects not only the nation's physical borders but also its ideological frontiers. The resolution echoed Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s words, which emphasized courage and perseverance as the true strength of the armed forces.
The Assembly commended the military's role in supporting federal and provincial governments in maintaining law and order, particularly in combating terrorism, a feat that has "won the hearts of the nation."
The sacrifices made by the armed forces allow the country to "sleep peacefully at night," noted the resolution. It further recognized that the Pakistan Army stands with the people during challenging times and has consistently met the expectations of the nation.
In closing, the Assembly honored the armed forces as the "crown of the nation," stating that their service to Pakistan remains unforgettable. The session adjourned until 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
