District Education Authority Lahore on Thursday has set a record by planting 10,000 saplings in schools in one minute in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per details, 10,000 saplings were planted in 41 schools of Lahore in one minute under the campaign of ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ initiated by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Punjab Education Minister for Schools Murad Ras kicked off the said campaign by planting saplings and lauded the efforts of students for setting this record.
Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) Secondary Mushtaq Sayyal, DPI Secondary Rana Abdul Qayyum, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Education Lahore Tariq Habib Farooqui and District Educational Officer (DEO) Secondary Malik Ehsan participated in the ceremony.
The education minister, speaking on this occasion, said that the aim of planting the trees is to clean Lahore from pollution. “The summary of tenure of educators will be approved by the Cabinet soon and approval for the recruitment of 16,000 teachers is also expected in two weeks,” he said.
