Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) Thursday made an announcement about not extending the period for filing tax returns, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
It was stated that the Finance Ministry barred the extension in the tax return filing period.
More than 1700000 people have already filed the tax returns out of which, more than 100000 people filed the returns on Wednesday.
All commissioners were directed to cater to the individual cases of taxpayers seeking leeway. They can also file an application for extension.
The last date for filing tax returns in September 30.
