Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) ranked fifth in the domestic flight operation rankings in the punctuality report of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
In the CAA report, the flights of the Pakistani airlines between January and June this year were ranked in terms of on-time departure and arrival.
It is learnt that the mismanagement and the financial crisis have badly affected the on-time departure and arrival of PIA’s domestic flights.
The departure ratio of PIA’s domestic flights was 58.24 percent. The private airlines ranked first to fourth in the domestic operation rankings of the CAA.
The on-time departure ratio of private airlines’ flights was much better than that of the national airline.
The departure and arrival of the PIA flights were most affected during January and June 2023.
The on-time departure ratio of private airline Fly Jinnah’s flights remained at 87.93 percent.
Air Sial ranked second with 86.89 percent on-time departure ratio, Air Blue ranked third with 78.36 percent on-time departure ratio and Serene Airlines ranked fourth with 62.7 percent ratio.
No Pakistani airline could achieve a 100 percent on-time departure and arrival ratio.
