Punjab CM Maryam seeks report on market price of flour on daily basis

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has sought report on the market price of flour from concerned departments on daily basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was presiding over a special meeting held in order to review the prices of flour in the markets.

In the meeting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif called the market price of flour and put it in front of the participants of the meeting while the data presented in the Food Department's briefing was differed from the market flour rates.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed displeasure at presenting wrong data on the price of flour.

It was decided in the meeting to determine the price of flour according to the category of Pakistan Quality Control Standard.

It also was decided in principle to allow transportation of flour with permit.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to restructure the food department.

The Chief Minister ordered for sure legal action against corrupt elements and digital monitoring mechanism of officers and employees of Food Department.

“I will not allow the price of flour to be increased illegally”, Maryam Nawaz warned.

The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that mafias are doing their work and departments are sleeping.

Maryam Nawaz asked if the departments will not do their work, how the governance will improve.

The farmer has sold his wheat, now we will not allow the mafia to exploit the people, Maryam Nawaz warned.

Punjab CM was briefed that provincial government has reserves of 2.2 million metric tonnes of wheat.

More that 6-million metric tons of wheat is in stock in Punjab and geo-tagging of wheat reserves is being done for stocking purposes.

Center Parvez Rasheed, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information Minister Uzma Zahid Bukhari, Ministers Bilal Yasin, Syed Ashiq Hussain, Chief Secretary, Secretaries and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
