Rawalpindi's Civil Court Monday released the elected member of the provincial assembly (MPA) of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Tanveer Aslam Raja on bail.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, MPA Tanveer Aslam was arrested by the Chaklala Airport police for holding a rally in Chaklala Scheme-III in Rawalpindi yesterday.

Rawalpindi police produced MPA Tanveer Aslam Raja before the court of Civil Judge Adil Sarwar Syal on Monday morning where the court approved the bail of the accused in the sum of Rs50,000.

MPA Tanveer Aslam Raja told the court that only he was arrested by the police and fixed false provisions against him.
