A gas leak in a high-roof van carrying university students from Borewala to Multan resulted in 16 females losing consciousness on Multan Road near Jahanian on Sunday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the female students were rushed to Tehsil Hospital in Jahanian, where three of them were reported to be in critical condition.
Jahanian police seized the van which was abandoned by the driver after leaving unconscious students in the hospital.
The police have started an investigation to determine the cause of the gas leak and the whereabouts of the driver.
