The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to approach court to declare absconder former PM Nawaz Sharif.
The thrice PM has been in London the city where his sons have luxurious properties allegedly built up by the money laundered during Nawaz’s terms as premier.
NAB released a statement explaining arrest warrants for the former PM, stating that the bureau has repeatedly summoned him but to no avail.
It said: “The law will take its course. The bureau is a national accountability watchdog that has been working for the supremacy of law. It will continue with the fight against corruption.
Under Chairman Javed Iqbal, the steps taken by the bureau stated are bearing fruit. He brought in reforms to make the bureau more active.”
According to NAB, last year it received 51, 591 but 46,123 have been addressed earlier and work on the rest is underway.
