To show solidarity with France, European Parliament has passed a resolution against the Pakistan status of GPS Plus with a huge majority on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Around 690 European parliamentarians participated in the voting on the said resolution against Pakistan in which only 6 members supported Pakistan but the other 584 disagreed and backed the resolution.
In the resolution, it was suggested to reconsider the status of GPS Plus of Pakistan. Worthy to mention here that Hungary fully backed Pakistan for the GPS Plus Status.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto who is on a visit to Pakistan also held a joint press conference with Pakistani Counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi here in Islamabad on Friday.
Qureshi paid thanks to Hungary for giving a vote in favour of Pakistan in the European Parliament and said that FATF (Financial Action Task Force) should not be used for political aims.
He emphasized the use of FATF for money laundering and terror financing despite its political use.
In the press conference, Qureshi said that the visit of the Hungarian Foreign Minister in this crucial time of the epidemic of coronavirus showed great interest in strengthening relations between both countries.
He said that they had made several agreements including cybersecurity with Hungary while a special meeting of business communities of both countries was held and Hungary is ready to invest US$84 million in Pakistan. He further informed that Hungary was going to start a direct flights operation for Pakistan too.
