Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has asked the PDM-led government to take immediate steps to provide relief to the inflation-hit masses, the 241NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
He was expressing his views through a video link in a consultative meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz bigwigs. The PML-N stalwarts discussed on political, economic, legal, party, and other important issues regarding the Punjab polls. The participants also burnt the midnight oil on possible elections, and constituency issues and agreed to take the allies into confidence on talks with PTI.
Mian Nawaz Sharif suggested that full relief should be given to the people before the elections. “It is necessary to solve the problems of the constituencies before the elections.”
He accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of ruining the country's economy and said Imran Khan is fighting a war to defame the country and institutions, striving for his personal gains.
“We are here for the country’s betterment and the people will never forgive him (Imran Khan), he added.
The PML-N supremo said that the matters including holding the elections simultaneously will be decided in consultation with the allied parties. He urged the government that policies should be made for public relief before elections.
Mian Nawaz Sharif also asked the allied party heads to play their role for the welfare of the country and nation.
He lamented that we had worked hard day and night to take the country on the path of development but enemies of the country destroyed the progress.
“There are some people who do not understand progress, people must avoid such people,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government is taking all possible steps to provide relief to the people.
He said that a special relief package will be given to the people to reduce their hardships.
He said the consultative meeting is for the country and the nation, but on the other hand, there is no one to guarantee the person who harmed the country.
It has been a year, we are working hard for the improvement and development of the country and the people will have good news very soon, he hinted.
