The Naran-Kaghan road has been closed on Sunday after melting a massive glacier on the way.
According to the National Highway Authority (NHA) spokesman, the road has been closed to all traffic.
The NHA spokesman said work on removing glaciers and cleaning the road at Chitta Katha on Naran Road is progressing quickly.
The spokesman said the passage was also obstructed by another large glacier at Guriya Chinch Naran. He added that the construction will begin when the glacier on Guriya Chinch was cleaned.
On the other hand, the Tourism Authority’s Spokesman Muhammad Saad recommended travellers exercise caution while visiting the Kaghan and Naran valleys.
Visitors should avoid visiting Naran, he said, adding that the district administration, NHA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department, Tourism Authority, and Kaghan Development Authority are working together on a priority basis to remove the road from the melting glacier that has blocked the road.
He advised tourists to call the Tourist Hotline 1422 for any information or emergencies. Tourist awareness information is often disseminated on social media channels.
