General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Commander of Turkish Land Forces, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters on Monday, ISPR reported.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and measures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation came under discussion, the military media wing said, adding that both sides expressed satisfaction over deep-rooted relations between the two countries, based on historic, cultural and religious affinity.
The COAS emphasized the need to strengthen existing military-to-military cooperation between the two armed forces, it maintained, adding that the visiting dignitary appreciated the role of army in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
On arrival at GHQ, the Turkish commander laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned-out contingent of the army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.
