API Response:
In a tweet, the minister said, “India's efforts and conspiracies to get Pakistan blacklisted and all the conspiracies of the enemy will be defeated by the will of Allah Almighty.”
Earlier on August 25, the minister questioned was there any doubt left that the Opposition's interest was NRO and not the national interest.
It is pertinent to note that on 25 August Opposition parties successfully halted the government’s FATF-linked legislation in the Upper House of the Parliament (Senate).
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said, “The opposition defeated 2 critical FATF-related bills: Anti Money Laundering and ICT Waqaf bills. From day one I have maintained that the self-serving interests of the opposition leaders & the country's interests are divergent.”
“As accountability noose has tightened, the Opposition leaders have become desperate to save their corrupt money by trying to prevent parliament from functioning; by seeking to undermine the government's effective COVID-19 strategy, a recognised global success story and now by trying to sabotage Pak efforts to exit FATF grey list,” Imran Khan said.
The Prime Minister said, “Opposition tried to hide behind the facade of democracy to protect their loot & plunder. To blackmail NRO by defanging NAB, they would even have Pak put on FATF blacklist to destroy the nation's economy and increase poverty. They keep threatening to bring down govt unless given NRO.”
Premier vowed, “Let me make clear: No matter what happens, my government will not allow any NRO as it would be a betrayal of the nation's trust in holding plunderers of public wealth accountable. Musharraf gave NROs to the two political leaders which quadrupled our debt and destroyed the economy. There will be no more NROs.”
