The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Federal Cabinet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given approval to the summary to request the G20 to defer payment of its loan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail chaired the meeting of the ECC in Islamabad on Tuesday.
As per the channel report, the committee has also approved a summary to give Rs25,000 cash assistance to flood-affected families.
The cabinet’s committee also gave the approval to increase strategic wheat reserves to 2 million metric tons and import 3 million metric tonnes of wheat.
The ECC directed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) to import 0.8 million tonnes of wheat.
In the meeting, the ECC also gave approval of expenses for the visits and inspections by the experts of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to Pakistan.
