In a strange turn of events, a lioness was spotted strolling on Karachi’s Shahra e Faisal on Tuesday evening, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the police, a pet lion, apparently a female, was being transported by the vehicle when it got out of the vehicle and escaped.
A huge traffic jam was reported in front of Aisha Bawany Girls College situated on Shahra e Faisal, as the lioness strolled on the side lane.
While huge crowd has gathered to click videos and look at the unusual scene. The lion attacked a citizen but luckily, he remained unhurt.
The beast is reported to have entered the basement of a nearby building.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to contact the wildlife authorities to capture the beast.
Later the Wildlife Department officials also reached on the spot to grab the animal. The staff suceeded to put the lioness into cage.
After the incident police reached on the spot while a large number of people also gathered there.
The police have detained the driver of the vehicle. Later, the owner of the tiger was arrested from the garden area.
Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (rtd) Maqbool Baqir took notice of the matter. He directed the wildlife department to send its expert team to the spot to catch the beast.
The chief minister also asked for an inquiry report from wildlife regarding keeping tigers in residential areas.
Under which law and with whose permission the tiger has been kept in the residential area, questioned by the Maqbool Baqir.
The chief minister directed the police and the district administration to cooperate with wildlife.
