PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday said she was proud of being the daughter of a brave man and praised Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider for not bowing down before a selected government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Maryam revealed that some vehicles started chasing her when she left the residence of Ahsan Iqbal last night. Fearing her arrest, the security staff asked her whether they should change the route, but she ignored the advice and said let them come and arrest her, the PML-N leader added.

It is Azad Kashmir’s turn to protect the vote in the upcoming state elections, she said and promised that she would lead the campaign in the region personally.

She was addressing a large gathering of charged party workers at a ceremony held in connection with the 10th foundation day of the PML-N Azad Kashmir chapter at Kashmir House in Islamabad.

Mocking Prime Minister Imran Khan for accusing Nawaz Sharif of being a friend of Modi, she asked the party workers who had lost the Kashmir case and gave away the territory to India.

Pakistan lost the case of Kashmir because of a selected and illegitimate person imposed as a prime minister, Maryam said, adding that jugular vein of Pakistan had been attacked when the vote wasn’t respected. “He is selected and would soon also be rejected.”

No one in Pakistan accepted the allegations levelled against Nawaz Sharif, she said and remarked that the same accusations were being proved true in the case of both selected and selectors.

Maryam said the narrative and stance of Nawaz Sharif had proved true with the passage of time, adding that the PML-N supremo was right in saying that every prime minister getting popular had been targeted through different means.

Imran is admitting that he is incompetent and has been brought into power without any knowledge, said the PML-N leader.

Talking about injustice, she said the masterminds of the Faizabad sit-in had been exposed in the case of Justice Faez Isa who was targeted for issuing a justice-based decision. It is a vindication of Nawaz Sharif’s stance, the PML-N leader added.

About the arrest of Khawaja Asif, she said he was detained just minutes after he shared the story of how he had been pressured to ditch Nawaz Sharif, adding that those thinking about frightening Nawaz Sharif and his party into submission were wrong in their assumption.

PML-N to file treason case against Imran

PML-N Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal was also among the speakers. He said people from the smaller provinces used to talk about not respecting their vote but the problem was currently also felt in Punjab.

East Pakistan became Bangladesh only because their mandate wasn’t not respected, Ahsan said, adding that a majority, for the first time in the world history, had decided to secede from a country.

He said the Modi government was able to go ahead with his plans in Kashmir only after Imran Khan Niazi came into power in Pakistan, as he opted to remain silent instead of going for active diplomacy. Imran sold Kashmir for staying in power, Ahsan remarked and promised that the PML-N would file a treason case against him for selling the Kashmir cause.

Won’t allow repeat of GB polls in AJK

In his speech, Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said he could not say things he had taken oath not reveal secrets, adding that Imran had damaged Pakistan, not Kashmir.

He warned against the formation of Gilgit-Baltistan province, saying they would fight with everyone on the issue and even against the PML-N leadership, as he directly addressed Maryam while saying this.

Raja Farooq stressed that the PML-N leadership would have to fulfil the promises made in the presence of Nawaz Sharif during a meeting at Model Town in Lahore about making Azad Kashmir government more powerful.

He vowed that they would not allow a repeat of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections in Azad Kashmir, saying that 4.5 million Kashmiris were strong enough to foil the plans.
