CM Mohsin Naqvi inaugurates CTD Training School, lauds its role in countering terrorism

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Training School at the CTD Headquarters on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


He inspected various departments of the school, including the conference room, classrooms and auditorium, and met the corporals under training. He appreciated the professional training of Aran and the efforts of Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar and Additional IGC CTD Waseem Khan for establishing the school.


The chief minister also chaired a meeting at the CTD headquarters, where he was briefed about the successful intelligence operations against terrorists. He said that CTD Punjab was playing the role of a leading agency in countering terrorism and that he was proud of its unparalleled performance.


He praised Additional IGC CTD Waseem Khan for making CTD an exemplary institution with team work in a short period of time.


He said that CTD was working hard to defeat terrorists and their facilitators and that it was the vanguard of the province. He assured that the Punjab government would provide modern technology to enhance the operational and intelligence capabilities of CTD Punjab and would support it at all levels.


He also announced that 313 new houses were being constructed for Punjab Police, 40 new smart police stations were being built, a program had been made to make Safe City projects functional in 20 cities by January 31, and that 737 police stations of Punjab would have their own land by January 31.


He paid tribute to the officers and personnel of CTD who fought against the terrorists without caring for their lives and said that they were the heroes of the nation.


Additional IGC CTD Punjab briefed the chief minister about the ongoing operations and achievements against terrorists. Inspector General Police, Home Secretary, Additional IGCDT, Additional IG South Punjab, CCPO and related officials were also present on the occasion.
