Some of the selected candidates have been informed by the Nadra HR Department, through the telephone, that they have been terminated from “so-far-not-joined” jobs. The Nadra authorities, however, appeared reluctant to release any written or official orders about the “termination”.
According to details, the Regional Head Office of Nadra in Peshawar had published an advertisement in September 2019, inviting applications for different posts on short basis in various areas of erstwhile Fata agencies including North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, Bajaur and Mohmand under Temporary Displaced Persons Emergency Relief Project (TDP-ERP).

Moreover, they were also informed that there will be provided three days training upon joining their jobs. Following their training, they would be posted to their respective area of jobs on January 27.
They, however, the successful candidates were once again informed in the meanwhile that their training has been cancelled and they will be informed soon about the new date for the training.
Political Pressure
On other hand, some parliamentarians belonging to Fata districts also wrote to the Nadra chairman, complaining about wrongdoing in the process of hiring. They pointed out that there was no written test conducted for the appointment besides ineligible persons were hired “for bribe.” It is to be noted that according to the conditions mentioned in the advertisement, there was no written test for these posts. According the advertisement, the candidate applying for more than one vacancy was to be posted on the vacancy which is in line with his educational qualification.
It is to be remembered that complaints were also lodged in the Prime Minister's Complaint Cell against these appointments.
Nadra, however, declared these complaints as baseless, insisting that the appointments had been made in accordance with the rules and regulations.
When contacted Nadra spokesperson declined comment on the issue. The successful candidates, number more than 100, regretted that most of them had quit their previous jobs for assuming new responsibilities with Nadra. The candidates expressed their resolve for fight for their rights, saying they will not let anybody usurp their right.
Some of the candidates lamented that ironically, in “Naya Pakistan” Nadra has also changed as recruitment made purely on merit after due process, have been “cancelled due to political pressure.”
According to reports, the Nadra chairman seemed to have succumbed to political pressure by Fata Senators.
