A 14-year-old groom, Ayaz Ali, who was arrested at the eleventh hour when he was about to tie the knot with an underage bride in Khairpur died allegedly by police torture, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
It is pertinent to note that Khairpur police had raided a wedding party and foiled an attempt to get young children married on Thursday.

Now, the family members of the groom alleged that Ayaz Ali lost his life after the mental torture he faced during his detention in police lock-up.
“After the court ordered to set free the couple from police custody, Ayaz fell ill and later died in illness,” the family members of the underage groom alleged.
Ayaz's parents were shifted to central jail however the couple was released from police custody but the tragedy struck and he died after remaining in police custody.
Ayaz was all set to marry 13-year-old bride, Saima, amid the presence of guests when the police raid came, during which 20 people including the groom, bride's parents and guests were arrested.
A case was registered under the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act. It is pertinent to note that in Sindh, the minimum age to get married is 18 for both men and women.
