Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) continues to create problems for the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as in yet another setback to the ruling party, Ihtesham Khan, son of PTI’s chief whip in Senate Fida Khan, has joined the JUI-F, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Ihtesham announced his decision at a function held at his residence in Malakand to which JUI-F KP Ameer Senator Maulana Ataur Rehman was specially invited.
Ihtesham also hoisted the JUI-F flag atop his residence to mark his switching of loyalties.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Ataur Rehman congratulated Ihtesham on joining the JUI-F, and expressed the hope that his inclusion in the party would make it more popular in Malakand.
Exactly a week ago, on January 23, 2022, 24News had reported that yet another leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had changed his loyalties by deciding to join the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F). This time it was former KP local bodies’ minister Sardar Idrees.
Talking to 24News, JUI-F KP Secretary General Maulana Ataul Haq Darwesh disclosed that some other important personalities of the PTI were also in touch with the party’s high-command in KP for their joining in near future.
And even before that, on January 14, 2022, the channel had reported that the results of recently held local bodies’ (LB) elections in KP had thrown up new challenges for the ruling PTI in the province as it had come to light that several party MPAs and MNAs were ready to join the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).
