Pakistan and Turkiye have launched joint military drills on Monday, said a statement issued by the ISPR, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The opening ceremony of Pakistan-Turkiye Joint Exercise "ATTATURK-XII 2023" was held today at Tarbella. National anthems of both the countries were played at the start of the ceremony.

Troops from Turkish special forces and Pakistan Special Service Group (SSG) are participating in the exercise.

The two-week-long exercise is aimed at enhancing counter-terrorism techniques, said the ISPR statement, adding the exercise will focus on compound clearance, cave clearance, sniper training, counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) training and combat medical care.

The joint exercise will enhance and further strengthen military ties between the two countries and share Pakistan Army's experience in war against terrorism.
