Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan Monday met with Commerce and Interior Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz in Islamabad to discuss the region's development issues, particularly focusing on export opportunities, reported the24NewsHD TV channel.


During the meeting, Dr. Gohar Ejaz emphasized the strategic significance of year-round accessibility to the Khunjerab Pass, highlighting it as a golden opportunity for exports.


He stressed that increasing exports from Gilgit-Baltistan would not only foster regional development but also generate employment opportunities.


Gohar Ejaz also proposed the establishment of trade centers in Gilgit-Baltistan to facilitate the marketing of local goods, emphasizing the potential of mineral exports.


He expressed the government's commitment to showcasing Gilgit-Baltistan's natural beauty and resources to the world, aiming to maximize its economic potential.


Responding to the discussions, Chief Minister Gulbar Khan underscored the vast export opportunities present in Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly in the fruit and mineral sectors, including precious stones.


He expressed enthusiasm for leveraging these resources to bolster the region's economy and promote sustainable growth.
