The weather turned chilly in Karachi after different parts of the port city received light rain late Monday night and early Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Rain was reported from localities like II Chundrigar Road, Saddar area and their outskirts.
Similarly, rain was also reported from Buzrata Line, Lines Area, Landhi, Korangi and other areas.
Spells of rain were followed by fog, which reduced visibility to two kilometers in some areas.
Minimum temperature recorded in the city early Tuesday morning was 18 degrees Celsius, which was expected to go up to 27 degrees Celsius later in the day.
Winds were blowing from the north-easterly direction at the speed of six to eight nautical miles per hour.
Humidity level in the air was recorded at 63 per cent.
The Met Office, on the other hand, forecast more rains for the city during the next 24 hours.
Medical experts advised people to take precautionary measures in view of smog in the city.
Upper parts of country continue to receive rain, snow
On the other hand, upper parts of the country continued to receive rain and snow for the second consecutive day.
Rain and heavy snowfall over the hills in Upper Dir, Swat, Diamer, Chilas, Abbottabad, Murree, Rawalakot and suburbs paralyzed routine life as roads were blocked, forcing the residents to restrict themselves to their homes.
Shortage of food items was also reported from these areas.
Similarly, rain and snow in northern parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Chaman, Kozak Top, increased the intensity of the cold weather.
Likewise, rain was also reported from upper parts of Punjab, including Kharian, which the farmers hoped would prove beneficial for the wheat crop.
Weather department predicts more rain, snow
The Met Office, on the other hand, forecast that the present spells of rain and snow would continue for the next few days.
