Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has expressed its reservations over the polling scheme announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

In a letter to the election commissioner, Sindh, the copy of which has also been sent to the chief election commissioner, party leader Rauf Siddiqui has requested him to ensure that exact information is provided in the scheme about the polling stations.

In the letter, Siddiqui has alleged that the returning officers as well as district returning officers (DROs) in NA-237 are facilitating the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate by doing objectionable things.

MQM-P leader writes that initially polling stations 115 and 117 in Karachi’s Chanesar Goth area were situated in Government Boys Secondary School. “But unfortunately, when political personalities interfered, the stations were shifted to the Community Center, which is a stone’s throw from PPP candidate Saeed Ghani’s home,” Siddiqui says, adding, “In this regard, we had submitted a written application to the DRO, but he still issued a ‘controversial’ scheme over which we have strong reservations.”

Asserting that the ROs and DROs should be impartial, the MQM-P leader has made it clear that if the party’s concerns are not addressed, it will be left with no other option but to move the courts.
