Pakistani actress Dur e Fishan Saleem has revealed her reservations regarding the portrayal of women in Pakistani drama serials.
Dur e Fishan made her acting debut with the serial ‘Dil Ruba’.
However the actress has gained considerable recognition through another project known as ‘Pardes’.
During an interview with BBC, the rising showbiz personality revealed her stance regarding the kind of impression women in our drama serials portray and it seems that Miss Saleem doesn’t agree with the narrative of Pakistani dramas.

The actress believes that TV should represent our societal issues in a manner which would provoke betterment and change.
Miss Saleem mentioned: “We praise crying women while they return to a man who belittles them. That’s what our audience likes.”

Dur e Fishan then decided to give reference of her own drama project ‘Pardes’: “Zubaida in Pardes is glorified because she is compromising. It isn’t a slight compromise and she is compromising to the point that she is neglecting her children.”
