Unidentified persons Friday opened straight fire on the Lal Haveli of Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad in Rawalpindi and fled safely.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, some people attacked the residence of the minister and opened fire on it.
At the time of the armed attack on Lal Haveli, Sheikh Rasheed was not present in the house as he is enjoying time in northern areas as his Twitter post suggests.
But, an eight-year-old child Ans who was selling cooked Channay (grams) outside the Lal Haveli was injured by receiving a bullet from the unidentified persons. The boy was later shifted to the hospital where his life was out of danger.
Police have started an investigation into the case and started a search operation around Lal Haveli to arrest the culprits.
Lal Haveli was also fired upon in April 2021 when some of the Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) protesters attacked the residence of the Interior Minister for arresting their leaders and banning the party.
In August 2017, enraged supporters of former premier Mian Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz also attacked the Lal Haveli.
