Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has commended the untiring efforts of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for maintaining peace on Ashura across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The chief minister, in a tweet, said: “Alhamdulillah! All processions and ‘Sham e Ghareeban Majalis’ in Punjab ended peacefully and without incidents. Hats off to the dedicated district administration and police for their tireless efforts in maintaining a secure environment for worshippers.”
He added: “Appreciation for intelligence agencies, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Police, Rangers and Pakistan Army for ensuring security despite active cellular services in 95 percent areas of Punjab. Together, we have successfully spread Islam’s true message of peace and harmony.”
