A Gujrat woman, with the connivance of her female friends, allegedly kept inviting youths to her house for three months to allow them to sexually abuse her 19-year-old stepdaughter in exchange for money, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The incident came to the light at Kor Mir area in the Jalalpur Jattan police precincts after the victim, identity withheld, managed to flee from the hostage of her stepmother named Maria and her female friends.
She reached the place where lived her maternal grandmother upon whose complaint the Jalalpur Jattan police registered a case against the accused stepmother and her female friends.
However, the police are yet to arrest the accused.
This is the second rape incident of its kind in Gujrat as earlier on Wednesday, a woman was gang-raped by eight men in the Kunjah police precincts.
The rapists then threw 25-year-old Faiza, who hail from Lahore, on Dinga Road in a critical condition and fled.
And despite the registration of a case by the police against three nominated and five unidentified persons, the woman’s tormentors are still at large.
According to the police, the suspects lured Faiza into their trap on the pretext of marriage and then raped her.
It is to be noted here that despite the vow made by Punjab Minister Ataullah Tarar recently that he would get tough on rapists and pedophiles, such crimes continue to make headlines in the media.
