The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored Dr Qibla Ayaz as a member of the Board of Governors of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The university administration had issued removal orders for Dr Qibla Ayaz from the post of member of the Board of Governors which were suspended by the IHC.

Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq issued notices to the parties in the case and sought answers from them.

On the occasion, Barrister Omar Ijaz Gilani said that the two-year term had legal protection, adding that in the law, only the President of Pakistan had the power to remove the Board of Governors.

“The university administration has no authority to remove a member of the board of governors from the office,” stated Barrister Omar Ijaz Gilani.

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till July 7 next.
