An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale rattled the federal capital Islamabad and adjoining areas on Thursday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The quake shook Islamabad and several areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Swat, Charsadda, Lower Dir, and Mardan at 9:59 am.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the depth of the quake was 170 kilometers with its epicenter being deduced to be the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
The panicked people came out of their homes while reciting Kalma Tayyaba.
However, no loss of life or property was reported so far.
