Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz along with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif okays Murree Development Plan after chairing a 5-hour-long special briefing about the development plan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb gave a detailed briefing to the CM.
Punjab CM approved Rawalpindi to Murree Tourist Glass Train Project and the government will hire international consultants for it. It was also decided that the government would shift the high-rise hotel building on Mall Road in Murree to restore the city’s scenic beauty.
It was decided that the government would give a uniform appearance, sign and colour scheme to old buildings on Mall Road. Moreover, the ancient names of every city, region, and historical buildings will also be restored.
Moreover, the building bylaws approval was transferred to the provincial government from the local administration. The government decided to take action against authorities who permitted illegal constructions in the area.
The CM Punjab also approved short, medium and long-term plan for the provision of drinking water in Murree. It will be assured that 6 lakh gallons of clean water will be provided to the city per day.
RCC and tuff tiles will be installed in 53km streets of Murree.
The government approved the reconstruction and expansion of Murree Kashmir Road while a temporary parking space will also be created in Old Murree Road.
While remodelling of Jhika Gali Chowk, the rehabilitation of Lawrence College Road, Bostal Mor to Brewery Road was also approved.
The govt approved to build tree house, camping site, walkways, and terrace parking area in Bansara Gully Wildlife Park and Bagh Shaheedan Park entrance.
It was approved the natural environment should be restored in Murree Biodiversity Park. It was decided to create Huts City for tourists in Bio Diversity Park.
Moreover, the construction and maintenance of 16 internal roads of Murree was also approved. On the occasion, PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif said that the poor man should not be harassed who were earning the bread for their families.
Maryam Nawaz claimed that “the city of Murree has become much better than before. We will make it the best for the people”. CM said encroachments in Murree will not be tolerated.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ministers Soheb Ahmed Malik, Zeeshan Rafique, Bilal Akbar, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, MNA Osama Sarwar Raja, MPA Bilal Yameeni. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Kamran Lashari and other officials attended the meeting.
