Punjab govt to hire 30,000 teachers for public schools

The Punjab government has initiated plans to address the shortage of teachers in public schools by hiring 30,000 new teachers, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.


According to the report, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has tasked the Provincial Minister of Education Sikandar Hayat with completing the recruitment process.


The channel reported the focus will be on ensuring that subject specialist teachers are hired for all subjects and all these recruitments will be conducted through the Public Service Commission.


In the previous tenure of Shehbaz Sharif, 46,000 teachers were recruited.


Provincial Minister of Education Sikandar Hayat announced that the recruitment will be carried out in phases, with an effort to complete the process during the summer holidays.
