The Opposition and the MQM-P which reached an agreement late Tuesday night under which the Muttahida will support the joint Opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, will disclose the details of their accord today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Tv channel quoting Maulana Fazlur Rehman reported that the joint news conference of leaders from both sides will be held at 4:00 pm.
The MQM-P is also expected to hold their meeting party meeting at Bahadurabad in Karachi at 2:00 pm today.
Meanwhile, a two-member government team also held talks with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan late Tuesday night to win its support to foil the joint opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The team comprising Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Defence Minister Pervez Khattak held talks with the key partner of the PTI-led coalition.
In a statement, the Sindh governor said he conveyed an important message of PM Khan to MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. “We have assured that MQM-P’s reservations will be addressed,” he said and added that the government is willing to meet all demands of the coalition partner.
“We offered one more ministry and are willing to give whatever they will ask for,” the governor said and added “Our doors are open. We hope that MQM-P will make a decision after a careful thought.”
He pointed out that he has no knowledge of the agreement between MQM-P and the joint opposition.
Opposition, MQM-P deal
Earlier, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has joined hands with the opposition for backing the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan in the National Assembly, reported 24 NewsHD TV channel.
The MQM-P and the PPP sealed the deal at the Parliament Lodges after hours-long deliberations late Tuesday.
The draft has been signed by the leaders of MQM Pakistan and the opposition confirmed MQM-P Senator Faisal Sabzwari.
He took to Twitter and confirmed the news, saying: “ The agreement between Muttahida Opposition and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan has been finalized. The mainstream media will be informed at 4pm today (Wednesday).”
The PTI government lost the majority in the lower house of the parliament following the late-night development.
The joint opposition has 177 members of the national assembly after the decision of the ruling coalition partner MQM-P and the government left 164 MNAs.
The PPP also shared the story on social media and Faisal Karim Kundi stated that the formal announcement will be made in a joint press conference at 4pm today.
PPP leader Shazia Murree too tweeted, "Game over Imran Khan".
