Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today in Saudi Arabia, Gaza, UAE, Qatar, and Gaza with spiritual congregations at the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais led the Eid prayer in the Grand Mosque, while Sheikh Abdullah conducted the prayers in Masjid al-Nabawi.
In Palenstine, Yemen, Eid is also being observed today. However, in Pakistan, India, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, the moon was not sighted, and Eid will be celebrated tomorrow. Similarly, in Australia, Eid festivities will take place on Monday.
In Western countries like the UK, the USA, and Canada, there is division among Muslims, with some celebrating Eid today and others observing it on Monday based on their local moon sightings.
The AFP reported that Oman, Jordan, Egypt, and other North African countries will celebrate Eid tomorrow on Monday.
Across the Muslim world, Ramadan festivities this year were overshadowed by Israel's resumption of hostilities in Gaza, where its military campaign to eradicate Hamas has killed tens of thousands of people, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-run territory.
