The Punjab government has imposed a province-wide ban on temporary mechanical swings during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, citing serious safety concerns.

According to an official notification issued to all deputy commissioners, no temporary mechanical swings will be permitted to operate throughout the province during the holiday period.

"Temporary mechanical swings pose a significant safety risk. This measure ensures public safety during Eid festivities," stated a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department.

However, authorities clarified that amusement parks, theme parks, and play areas featuring permanently installed mechanical rides will be allowed to operate, provided they comply with safety regulations.

To enforce this, all permanent rides must have up-to-date fitness certificates, which will be verified by district commissioners before operation.

In addition, a central control room has been established at the Punjab Home Department to monitor enforcement of the ban and ensure strict compliance with safety measures.

The control room will remain operational 24/7 throughout the Eid holidays, with senior officials overseeing security and implementation efforts.
