Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss various proposals aimed at providing public relief, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The consultative meeting resulted in several key agreements, including the reduction of government expenditure, with suggestions being taken from Nawaz Sharif for cost-cutting at both federal and provincial levels.
The meeting also agreed to provide relief to consumers using up to 200 units of electricity and to prepare the federal budget in accordance with the IMF programme's terms.
Additionally, the Punjab Government will enhance the provision of free medicines and treatment, and a significant amount of money will be allocated to support farmers in Punjab.
The meeting included a detailed discussion of various proposals to ensure maximum relief is provided to the public in the upcoming budget.
